22 Croquet Critters

I'm horrid at making decisions. I nixed the brown background (well, actually, I just gave myself more options) and these two came about. The one with more pastel colors was in case the other looked too... elementary school without it's background. I personally think it's fine in those basic colors, but maybe the lighter tones look more... modern? We'll see how it goes, folks.

Dunno if I'm going to play with the line art colors... dunno if I'm going to whip up another version with different colors on a white/light background. Done for now. Due tomorrow. Done for the Penfield Children's Center annual croquet ball.

I Heart: Hearts

V-Day is right around the bend and although I know it's despised by half my friends it's one of my favorite holidays. I love frilly girly things, I love cutesy marketing schemes, and I heart hearts.

I've always craved a pair of these guys from Fred Flare but I've never been able to justify spending $11 on them... although considering I'd probably wear them all the time this might just be the summer I cave in.Cute vintagey rangler T from Forever 21's Heritage line- I love the bright blue and, duh, the vintagey vibes.This simple hammered ring from Lazydayz is just delicate enough... might look silly on my kitten tail fingers but I don't care, it rocks.This cut-out dress from Fred Flare is A-Dorable. I'd wear it even if I was single and it was July. Check out the back view!

Five Bucks Worth

I was informed today (well, actually I was informed on Friday, but I don't check my email as often as I need to) that one of my teachers was interested in submitting my Terrestrial Critters to the Society of Illustrator's student scholarship competition. I'll admit, I'm terribly excited and honored- even more honored when I realized each entry costs five dollars. Five bucks is a lot from MIAD!

When the Going Gets Rough, Shop With Somebody Tough

Over the past couple of weeks I've been forced to hang out in Mayfair Mall for extended periods of time with nothing to do while the elves at the Apple store slave away fixing the many things that manage to go wrong with my laptops. Therefore, it is only a matter of time before I spend money I don't have and feel the need to show it off online. Observe: Nollie shirt from PacSun, Volcom sandals from eBay (because they didn't have my size at PacSun), and skirt from Forever 21.

Three Snowbirds

This is the almost finished version of a painting I submitted to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for their Christmas Day cover contest. In the final version the contrast is upped a bit more and I smoothed some of the more awkward creases in the collaged newspaper strips. Wish me luck!

Apparently there's a good chance Harry and Hermione are going to bare it in the Deathly Hallows (you know, in that bit where Ron's getting tortured, they want to have the audience empathize so they're torturing us, too).
